To stay on the right side of the law, employers must be able to show that they have carried out the necessary right to work checks on staff, which includes checking and copying original documents such as passports, birth certificates and official National Insurance documents.

Casual or temporary workers have many of the same rights as permanent members of staff, including holiday entitlement and equal treatment. After 12 weeks, temporary spa staff are entitled to the same level of pay, pension enrolment and paid annual leave as their permanent counterparts.
